PUGGLEFM - ONLINE RADIO FOR FAMILIES
PuggleFM is an online radio station and podcast hub for parents around the world.
We have been asked the below questions numerous times and thought it might be helpful to create a FAQ page - to answer the most common questions we receive.
What number is your radio station, I want to tune in?
PuggleFM does not have any frequency and you cannot listen to it on a normal FM radio.
However, if you have a AUX port in your car and iTunes on your iPod or iPhone, you can listen to us in the car still. PuggleFM is currently working on an iOS application for iPads and iPhones for 2013.
2013 marks a new year, positive outlook and ambition to deliver quality podcasts to parents around the world.

Not currently. You can listen to us via iTunes or you can download the iPhone app Shoutcast and stream online via that app if you connect your phone to your AUX cable in your car. We hope to develop a PuggleFM app very soon so that this can be done much easier.

I noticed the website is now pugglefm.com, not pugglefm.com.au - does that mean I can no longer access the original website?
The original website www.pugglefm.com.au is still fully operational and will be for the foreseeable future. This new-look website is part of our IOS launch and will eventually replace the old interface, however we are not rushing this process and will operate both sites simultaneously for the time being.

Is PuggleFM about music censorship?
Not at all; while I am tired of the same repetitive music, with lyrics I would never want my children to sing along too, PuggleFM would ever aspire to condemn any song or singer or band, each to their own. PuggleFM cannot define what is offensive and what is not offensive, what is appropriate for children and not appropriate, but what we do promise to take a lot of care as to the content of music played during the hours we know children will be listening too, take care in the messages the music we play endorse or promote, and if we have a complaint, we promise to remove that song from all future playlists.

Why don't you just listen to a CD if you don’t like the radio?
Good point. And the day the concept of PuggleFM came to me, I did just that. Only I drove straight into a massive traffic jam because the CD didn't update me on the traffic. PuggleFM wants to provide traffic updates, including traffic specific to school zones, give news updates (and not the headlines, we know you will hear/read them later that day, but news specific to families like health and education and warnings etc.). PuggleFM was created because of the need of a tailored radio solution for families; it’s not just about the music.
What motivated you to embark on the development of this business?
Quite literally a traffic jam. I was driving my two small children to school one day, on route to work, and they asked, quiet early on in the trip, to have the music on. I turned on (at 8am in the morning) Rihanna’s SnM – which for those who do not know this song, the lyrics are not for children, yet it was being broadcasted at a time where the radio station KNEW children would be present. I flicked the station to some ads, flocked to another station for talk back about a sporting “identity’s” wife who had “lost her baby weight in 5 days” and was just so disappointed in the quality and standards of radio in Perth. I decided to turn to a CD, however, 20 minutes down the road, I ran straight into a major traffic jam, as the CD has no traffic updates! This gave me 2 hours or so to steam over the state of radio and question why there was no radio station for families. When I finally got into work I decided to investigate and was shocked to learn that indeed no station existed in Australia! This was my initial motivation to embark on the development of PuggleFM.
